Testimonials from their heart to mine...
I have no earthly clue why I see 3.8 ?
Anyway, 5 stars from the Momon family.
Melan is simply the best. I desired in my heart to have a water birth but there were no birthing centers near me in Tennessee.I settled with the idea of having a natural birth in a hospital, but later I transferred over to Melan's care after sensing that my previous doctor and I were not on the same page.
Melan made me feel so comfortable in her knowledge. She didn't over generalize anything. She didn't make me feel like an idiot, and she empowers you in each appointment! I felt comfortable expressing my concerns and she welcomed my charismatic husband in every aspect of the pregnancy and birth.
It feels like she knew everything and could send you to the right place to get whatever it was that you needed.
I have Tricare insurance and I had NO problems, none. Everything was handled flawlessly. I was never once confused about what I was paying for. I was never asked for more than expected, and her services are affordable; especially for the kind of exceptional care she gives.
My husband and I are all about divine connections and Melan was definitely that and much more. She was a godsend for our family. Being that we lived so far from family, Melan was like family to us.
Every call or text was answered, even if I felt like "ah, she's going to get me" - she never made me feel like I was inconveniencing her in anyway.
When it was time to have my little one, she was all I needed and more. I wanted to give up and she said "now Jasmine do you want to go to the hospital - no? - well get your mind back here you can do this," Next thing I know I was pushing without her instructing me and my big 8lb11oz water baby made his appearance on my birthday (8 hour labor/ no complications).
I would tell ANY woman/family to select Melan as the care provider. I promise you will not be disappointed.
We are now expecting again, a surprise baby, and I would give my left pinky toe to be near Melan so she would take care of us this pregnancy. Maybe I'll convince her to move to Georgia! Book her while you can! :-)
was a guardian angel on our baby's birthday. When we called her to tell
her that labor had begun, she was just finishing up with another birth,
but she came over promptly to check on us. As my labor progressed,
Melan seemed to anticipate my every need and continuously encouraged me
to trust my body. She knew when to wait, when to check, when to soothe,
and when to take control. The team at Eve's helped us welcome our son
into the world with an atmosphere that was both calm and triumphant, and
I am so proud that we made the choice to invite them into our home. ~Lynch Family
"Melan and the staff at Eve's have become like family to us. They were amazing during our pregnancy and birth experience of our first child at age 42. It was our desire to have a low intervention pregnancy and delivery, as long as mom and baby were healthy. They met and exceeded every expectation, which allowed for a home labor and hospital delivery. The team stayed with us through the 39 hours, assisted with the delivery and provided amazing in home follow up care. When postpartum anxiety and depression set in, Melan and her team supported us in every way, offering both natural and pharmaceutical help with great patience and understanding. Now a year and a half later, we feel blessed to have this team available to meet our entire family's healthcare needs. They are quick to respond, flexible in working us in, and genuinely care about us. We love them and are so thankful for their service in this community. We have recommended them to many people and will continue to." ~Pass Family
When I found out I was pregnant, I immediately started doing research on the midwives who offered home births in the Clarksville area. I quickly found out that there was only one midwife that my insurance would cover. I went ahead and contacted all of the midwives in order to decide who I would like to use regardless of insurance coverage. I also asked for midwife recommendations from a community of other like minded women, and I only heard great things about Melan. I scheduled my first appointment with Melan to ask questions and see if she would be a good fit for our family. I came with 2 pages worth of questions, and she answered every single question with ease.
We decided to go with Melan as my midwife, because I liked the fact that in addition to being a midwife, she is a Certified Nurse Midwife. I felt that she was the perfect blend of the medical and holistic communities. My pregnancy was wonderful from start to finish. Melan was always professional, on time for my appointments, and truly seemed to care for my concerns. For the first time, I felt like I was receiving medical care like it should be. She was very upfront with me and let me know that her end goal was to have a healthy mama and baby. She was not going to compromise my safety or the safety of my child in order to adhere to my "birth plan;" I respected her for that. In the end, I was able to give birth to a healthy baby girl in our home with no medical intervention. Melan was the perfect fit for our family and needs. My husband said that if he had it to do over, we would've had all 4 of our children at home with Melan as our assisting midwife. I can not say enough kind things about her and her staff. ~Bickham Family
This year has been a work in progress dealing with insurance companies but we will SURVIVE. Our biller has ironed out the problems...
Very troubling issues with billing. Desposits, copays, or deductibles
(whichever term was used at that appointment) changed throughout care
with differing explanations. Prenatal care was adequate, but my home
birth was less than what I had hoped for. I had a much better experience
with a more naturally minded midwife. If you're looking for a
completely intervention free birth I would be wary.- From Dotson FaceBook post
**What is a Low Risk Pregnancy?
Low risk refers to a pregnancy that is anticipated to be problem free. This assessment is based on a woman's past medical history, past gynecological/obstetric history and any other relevant issues as the pregnancy continues. A high risk pregnancy refers to a pregnancy which is thought from the outset to be more at risk of complications before, at or after the delivery. The reason you need to be aware whether you are low risk or high risk is that this assessment will decide the type of care that is most appropriate for you. Low risk pregnancies may be cared for in the main by midwives and family doctors; high risk pregnancies may require Consultant care with regular visits to Maternal Fetal Medicine. There is, however, no perfect way to determine levels of risk.
